ESTHELLA PROVAS has played many essential roles in the contemporary art world for the past thirty years, including her current position as President and Principal Art Advisor of Esthella Provas & Associates. She served as Director/Co-owner along with Eugenio López Alonso of Chac Mool, a contemporary art gallery active for twelve years in Los Angeles. Provas also played a pivotal role in establishing The Jumex Foundation for López, one of the world's largest and most comprehensive art collections and privately owned museums. She continues assisting López in procuring work for The Jumex Collection and other substantial art collections.
Among her philanthropic projects, Provas has served on the American Cancer Society and Project Angel Food boards and founded Angel Art, an annual auction benefiting Project Angel Food held at Creative Artist Agency's corporate offices. Provas is a co-founder of the Latin American International Art Council for the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles. Furthermore, she currently acts as a Development Consultant for Los Angeles County Museum of Art's (LACMA) Latin American Initiatives and serves as a member of their Director's Circle. In addition to her involvement in the institutional world, Provas was the Chair of LAXART and a founding member of the Los Angeles Nomadic Division (LAND). Since 2018 she has served as the chair of the American Foundation for AIDS Research (AMFAR) Mexico.
